Legendary Arts Forum Orientation
At first, this forum may seem overwhelming, but it is designed to aid in the ease of finding what you need or want in a much quicker fashion. Let's begin!
The forum is divided into two main sections, General and Guilds.
General
This section has 5 main parts:
General Discussion
You can typically discuss what you like and it does not have to be amtgard-related - such as anime, comic books, latest memes on facebook, youtube videos, and so on.
All Things Amtgardia
Discussions about epic battles, goals you have for your persona, amtgard politics (keep it civil), etc.
Into the Void
Need a place to vent? Need to talk about personal problems (within reason)? Looking for support during a trying time? Anything goes in the Void, so long as it does not violate the Community Conduct Rules.
The Mundane
Sometimes you need to talk about the mundane, and this is a place just for that. Have a niece who just turned 3 years old? We'd love to hear it. Neighbors keeping you up at night - feel free to share, although we don't need to know their names. Talk about anything mundane, but keep in mind that this is a public forum.
Suggestions
Have some ideas, suggestions, or dare I say, complaints? Then here's the place to go. We strive for the forum to be convenient and friendly, and it's not possible without input from members like you.
Guilds
The different categories of art are divided into 6 sections or "Guilds," each with a Guild Master in charge of their respective art and the A&S competitions.
Guild of the Fox
Dedicated to arts and crafts, such as furrier (uses fur to make things), garber (makes clothing), jeweler, leatherworker (makes things out of leather), potter (makes pottery), shoemaker, sketching & painting (this includes digital art), and Order of the Fox is where A&S Competitions are held and Awards are posted.
Guild of the Heart
This forum is for all things delicious whether it be food or drink (does not have to be alcoholic beverages). The Order of the Heart, naturally is reserved for competitions and awards.
Guild of the Hydra
Ah, the performing arts and similar creative pursuits. Here you will find sections for mage (fortuneteller and magician), jester (comedian and comic relief), minstrel (singer and musician), thespian (actors), and troubadour (literature, playwrights, and storytellers). We may include dancing as well. The Order of the Hydra features its competitions and awards.
Guild of the Raven
This is the recordkeeping, announcement, and roleplay/persona hub for both the forum and the household, Legendary Arts. Its respective parts are bookbinder (which includes cartographer (map-making), Librarian (keeper of documents), roleplay (roleplaying in the field and online) and scribe (keeper of persona descriptions), herald (announcements and events), and treasurer (keeper of finances and items - particularly in real life). The Order of the Raven posts awards based on the quality of work and punctuality.
Guild of Trade
Here we offer free advertising for those who have goods and services for sell. Two main groups exist - the merchants, who typically have an established store and the peddlers who do not have stores established. The Order of the Tun posts awards based on fairness of trade and customer satisfaction. A merchant or peddler is welcome to submit one of their items (such as a tunic) into one of the competitions of the other guilds. This can speak volumes about quality of workmanship.
Guild of the Wolf
This is for all things battle-related, such as Armorer (armor-making), Artillator (bow & arrow making), Martial Arts (different fighting techniques), Shields (shield-making), and Swordsmith (sword-making, and other hand-to-hand weapons). The Order of the Wolf features its own competitions and awards.
The A&S competitions are held by the Guild Master of each respective Guild. Anyone can propose an A&S competition to the Guild Master, who will then choose an interval that is most convenient for applicants to attend. The Awards given pertain to the specific Guild, and if necessary, to a particular sub-section of that Guild (for example, Swordsmith competitions featuring only Daggers). The award given will specify the type of competition (Swordsmith: Daggers). This is to ensure we compare like items to like items thereby ensuring improvement in a given art form.
So have fun, look around, share what you've learned, liked, and one day hope to master!
