LAND GRANT RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Overview
A. Sections of Tanglewood Forest shall be set aside by the Royal Grounds
Keepers (RGK) to be used for Land Grants.
B. A Tanglewood Forest Land Grant shall be a parcel of land granted to
specified subgroups of Amtgard for their use and development towards the
medieval, ancient, and fantasy genre atmosphere of Amtgard Activities.
C. All Matters concerning Land Grants shall be administered by the RGK.
2.. Conditions of Eligibility and Procedures for Obtaining Land Grants
A. Any party wishing to obtain a Land Grant must complete and file a “Land
Grant Request Form” to the RGK.
B. Petitioning parties must have a minimum of 6 members in their
Company/Household.
C. The Petitioning Party must have been known by the RGK for at least 6 months
before they will be eligible to petition.
D. The members of the Petitioning Party must perform a minimum of 150
Kingdom Work Hours over 3 years before the Land Grant will be awarded.
3. Requirements of the Land Grants
A. Size of Land Grants:
All new land grants shall be 1/4 acre of land and shall be as close to
square as terrain comfortably allows.
B. Roads:
Groups should work together to build roads to their Land Grant.
The RGK is not responsible for roads in the Land Grant areas.
C. Change of Land Grant:
Once Granted, Land Grant size and location will not be changed without
joint approval of the Grantee and the RGK.
D. Second Land Grant :
parcels may be petitioned for and awarded, at the RGK’s
discretion, with the performance of an additional 150 Kingdom
Work Hours.
D. Total Size:
Land Grant Parcels for any one group shall not exceed twice the
size of a single new parcel.
4. Guidelines for the Clearing and Development of Land Grant
A. Land my be cleared as the Grantee desires, however, any tree
with a base diameter of 5 inches or greater requires approval of the
Landowner before it may be cut down. Measure the diameter 6" above
where the tree enters the ground.
B. To use any pesticides or chemicals within Tanglewood Forest
prior approval of the RGK must be obtained.
C. Groups may build structures on their land grant, after submitting
the required Building Codes Documents and being approved by the RGK.
Plans for structures must be submitted before construction may begin.
The RGK shall evaluate all plans for safety, code adherence, and
appearances before permission to build any structure shall be granted.
5. Maintenance of Land Grants
A. Grantees are required to perform 50 RGK approved Projects Hours per
parcel each Calendar Year following the year of the Land Grant.
B. RGK members may apply their work hours toward their group.
C. Hour credits may be bought at $20.00/hour up to _ of the required hours.
D. Persons who belong to more than one group must choose which group to
apportion their hours.
E. Grantees are to keep their Land Grant area clean and natural looking at
all times. Trash piles or scattered trash is not acceptable. Building and
construction sites will need to be maintained and checked for safety hazards at
all times and any dangerous areas should be promptly and adequately marked.
F. RGK Approved Project Hours are defined as work assigned by the RGK
to help benefit all users of Tanglewood Forest by creating and maintaining
common areas.
G. RGK Approved Project Hours will be tracked by the RGK.
6. Fires
A. All fire pit locations must be approved by an RGK member before digging.
B. Use of fire pits or burning of any materials are subject to limitations on
account of weather conditions and shall be observed as specified by any
applicable government agency or safety departments of the State of Texas.
Notice and details of such restrictions shall be posted at the entrance of
Tanglewood Forest as they occur.
C. All Groups who hold Land Grants are required to purchase and keep in
close proximity to the fire, a Fire Safety Extinguisher with a capacity of at least 17
lbs. Further the extinguishers are to remain full and ready for use at all time, and
are subject to inspection at any time.
7. Enforcement
A. A Violation Form shall be completed for breech of ANY of the above rules
and regulations.
B. An accumulation of three violations will result in action by the RGK. Such
action taken shall be determined on a case-by-case basis.
C. Gross violations may result in immediate action by the RGK.
D. All other provisions of this document not withstanding, the RGK is the
final arbiter of an disputes.
E. The RGK shall have the authority to revoke any land grant, require
additional maintenance hours and/ or levy a monetary fine or other appropriate
actions for violations or other actions deemed improper.
